Fostering Together are rated Good by Ofsted!

Submitted by fosteringtogether on 21 April 2023

We are thrilled to announce that after a long wait, we can now make it public that Fostering Together has recently received a Good rating from Ofsted, following a week long inspection in February this year!

For those who may not be familiar with Ofsted inspections, they are designed to ensure that all social care services meet certain standards of quality and safety. These inspections are carried out by trained professionals who evaluate every aspect of a fostering provider's operations, from the training and support offered to foster carers to the quality of care provided to the children we support.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our entire team since deciding to make Fostering Together a specialist service supporting children who have complex disabilities in March 2022 and following our previous inspection in 2021.

The report highlights a number of areas in which we excel and it was great to hear in the many ways how foster carers and children talked about how they value the support that they receive from our wider team.

Some extracted quotes from the report:

Children are safeguarded by knowledgeable and experienced foster carers who demonstrate love, care and concern for the children. The support packages provided are flexible and increased in times of crisis in response to the children’s and foster carers’ needs.

The personalised recognition of children’s achievements is a strength of the agency.

The foster carers help children to access a range of activities in the community. Many children enjoyed an inclusive music festival, for which the agency is a partner. In addition, staff organise regular social events that are well attended.

The staff and foster carers help children to understand their particular diagnosis or medical condition. They encourage children to celebrate and follow their cultures.

One child said about his foster carers, ‘The life I have with them is the greatest.’

All the foster carers’ feedback is very positive about the professionalism, child-focused and family feel of the agency. Senior managers and staff offer consistent assistance to the foster carers. The personal touch is appreciated by all carers.

At Fostering Together, we are committed to providing the highest standards of care and support to all the children we look after. We believe that every child deserves a safe, loving, and nurturing home that understands and is equipped to give them the best opportunities possible, and we work tirelessly to ensure that this is what we deliver. We are proud to say that our Ofsted inspection report reflects our commitment.

We would like to thank all our foster carers, staff, and support workers for their hard work and commitment to providing the best possible care to the children we all have the privilege of supporting. We could not have achieved this result without their support and dedication.
