At Fostering Together there is always somebody available for us. Everyone goes out of their way to support us. They are all friendly and approachable and anything we have asked for or needed has been there. – Christine & Allan, Foster Carers

Our Evolution

Our founding team got together in 2019 with a mutual desire to create a high-quality service for foster carers and children in care. Our team's combined extensive experience and commitment to providing loving family environments for those in care enables us to ensure that every foster family, child and young person feels supported, respected and valued.

In August 2020 our application was approved by Ofsted and we began our journey to support and develop foster families to provide loving and nurturing family homes to children in care with a variety of needs.

In January 2022, due to the high calibre of experience within our fostering familes, support network and staff team, we decided to focus our service on supporting families caring for children with disabilities and complex needs.

Since then, our community has slowly grown, supporting families across a wider area of England, both new to fostering and those who have transferred to us to be part of a specialised community around disabilities. As we have grown, we have been intentional about reinvesting back into the service — enhancing the practical and therapeutic support available to our foster families and improving opportunities for the children in our care.

This reinvestment has included developing specialist resources to make experiences more inclusive and accessible. From investing in an accessible mobile facility to ensure children with complex personal care needs can comfortably attend family events and activity days, to creating a custom-designed holiday lodge on the south coast where families can enjoy accessible breaks together, we are committed to and creating meaningful experiences as part of a thriving community.

Our evolution has never been about becoming bigger for the sake of it, but continuing to build and develop new meaningful ways as to support everyone in our community.
