Palliative & Bereavement Community Support

I started my career in early-years care as a nanny, in day-care nurseries and as a preschool teacher. I then went onto have three children. My daughter was born with a rare genetic degenerative condition which required a lot of care and medical input. She sadly died in 2011 and in 2013 I began fostering children with life limiting and additional needs, joining Fostering Together in 2024. Since being a foster carer I have cared for over 13 children with a variety of needs and it’s been a pleasure being part of all of these children and their families' lives. I have a wide variety of medical skills learnt along the way.

Having lost my daughter and two foster children who had short life expectancies I have worked closely within world of palliative care, which developed my passion for supporting others with vulnerable children or are bereaved. For more community role at Fostering Together I work closely with Charlotte, to receive training from Hospice settings and we have created a great support network ensuring our community have the support they need when they need it.
