A Summer 2026 of adventures with Fostering Together ☀️
From picnics in the park to exploring the forest and enjoying theme park rides, our Fostering Together families have been making the most of the summer with a series of regional events! 🌳🎡💛
These get-togethers are a lovely opportunity for our foster carers, children and young people to spend time together, try new activities and make memories with others who understand their experiences.
🧺 Essex: Picnics in the Park
We kicked off our summer events with our Essex community at King George's Park in Brentwood. Families enjoyed a relaxed picnic in the sunshine, with plenty of toys, games and activities to keep everyone entertained.
Our signature bright pink gazebo proved particularly useful in the hot weather, giving everyone some welcome shade while they enjoyed the day! 😎⛱️

🌲 East Anglia: A Day in Thetford Forest
Our East Anglia families headed to High Lodge in Thetford Forest for another picnic, surrounded by trees and sunshine. 🌳🧺
Despite the heat, our gazebo, games and activities helped everyone stay comfortable and enjoy a chilled-out day together. It was also a great opportunity for newer members of our team to meet local families and start getting to know everyone. 🤗💚

🎢 Midlands: Fun at Twinlakes Park
Our Midlands communities joined forces for a combined day out at Twinlakes Park, where families enjoyed rides, attractions, water fun and, of course, a picnic in the shade! 💦🎠
It was a brilliant way to spend time together, make the most of the summer sunshine and hopefully head home with some very tired children! 😂💛

Events like these are about more than just a day out; they give our fostering families the chance to connect, share experiences and build relationships within a supportive community. For children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, they also create opportunities to enjoy new experiences and take part in activities alongside their peers.
Of course, the summer heatwaves have also meant adapting our plans to make sure everyone can enjoy events safely and comfortably. One of our region in the South Easr is planning something a little different, with a Halloween-themed event during the autumn half-term instead. 🎃👻 We're looking forward to seeing what spooky fun they get up to!
🌈 Thank you for a wonderful summer
A huge thank you to all the families who joined us at our regional events and helped make them so special. We're proud to bring our community together throughout the year and look forward to many more shared experiences ahead. 💛
