Gaming Party for our Youth Forum! 👾
For our Fostering Together Youth Forum, which we hold for young people in the Fostering Together community every quarter, our group had the fantastic idea of throwing a gaming party, so Rachael got busy to arrange!
The young people meet to make friends of different ages who also either are fostered, or their families foster children. We also have the opportunity to hear from them what they want to see from Fostering Together, and what it's like in the world of fostering from their perspective. Most importantly though, it's a great excuse to have a bit of fun...
We hired a mobile gaming bus to show up at the office with a selection of a council members' favourite video games, including Minecraft, Rocket League and more, and we enjoyed a mix of competitive and collaborative gaming experiences with the group, including building forts together on Minecraft, and racing tournaments on the driving simulators! Big shout out to 17 year old Connor who blew us away with his driving!
After the games, we all had a lunch and group activities, as well as a visit to the office to see how the Fostering Together team spend their days (when we do actually work!).
We're thanking Rachael for putting on such a fab day (though wondering how she can top it for next time! 🤔)
