Thank you to Regina, presented by Maddie, Ellie & Amy

🌟 A Huge thanks and Award to Music Therapist Regina

Submitted by fosteringtogether on 16 July 2026

We recently had the pleasure of surprising Regina, a Music Therapist at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, with a Big Heart for Children with Disabilities Award, recognising the incredible difference she has made to one of our foster families. 🎵💙

Nominated by foster carers Ellie and Amy, Regina was recognised for the impact of her music therapy sessions with Z. By taking the time to understand how Z communicates, Regina helped her find her voice, build confidence and develop greater independence. 🎶💛

💛 Helping every child’s voice be heard

Ellie and Amy shared why Regina’s support meant so much to their family:

“She was one of the first professionals to communicate effectively with Z without our support, giving her autonomy and showing her that her voice matters.”

Being understood and having the opportunity to communicate independently can make a profound difference to a child’s confidence and sense of self. Regina’s thoughtful, child-centred approach helped Z feel heard and supported, and the impact of that relationship will stay with Z and her family for many years to come. 🫶

🌍 Thank you, Regina

As Regina prepares to leave Shooting Star Children’s Hospices this summer and begin her next chapter back home, we were delighted to recognise her dedication and the lasting difference she has made.

A huge thank you to Regina for the care, compassion and creativity she has brought to her work with Z. We wish her every happiness for the future! 👏💙
